LIEN FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORTThis is not a journal. Not merely an annual report packaged as a journal. From the vacuumn-seal packaging to the relevantly useful paraphernalia interspersed throughout, everything conspires to present radical philanthropy in a radical way. From the ground – or in this case, from someone’s mind – up. The challenge is to give insights into not just the scope of the social enterprise projects, the motivation behind them, and the response and outcome, which are all par for the course. Perhaps more importantly, we want to furnish stakeholders with an honest appraisal of the projects. What do the people who conceived them think? How do others in the same social sphere in other countries do it? This inside-George’s-mind perspective is valuable because it tries to improve the project planning, execution and outcomes for the future. So it’s more than a journal. It’s a confession, a manifesto, a handbook designed to engage, transform and archive. George is the given name for the founder of the Lien Foundation, Mr Lien Ying Chow. |
